Rio

The individual members of RIO are all accomplished musicians in their own right.  But something special happens when the four of them get together.  What used to be a music stew (combining flavors to make a tasty goulash) has now become a musical Voltron.  They come together to form a being that is much greater than the sum of it’s parts.   The lyrics of Dr. Skankenstein are like nourishment for the heart, mind, and soul.  Everyone has a great jam band ability to take you through many different musical landscapes.  If you have to classify RIO into a genre, just think of a reggae jam band, or as they like to call it, Dirty Roots.  That means that most songs have a reggae vibe but are free to go in any direction the band wants.  When watching RIO, expect to hear reggae and ska feels mixed with swing, jam, rock, and soul.
